Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

We spent 2 weeks in South Africa beginning in late December thru Jan 9. From the first email, we received CLASS A service from the travel designer at the travel company. She was very attentive to our interests and very rapidly created a travel plan with detailed day by day itinerary including options for accommodations/additions. After many iterations, including several edits and last minute COVID related changes, the plan was complete and the final itinerary was ready for our dream trip.
The trip was as described and met every one of our preconceived expectations. On site, the designer was very responsive to some last minute questions and minor changes. We always felt supported and were very comfortable in an unfamiliar country, largely because of the travel designer.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

A few things I must mention:
1. Karongwe Game Reserve: Just spectacular. Saw all Big 5 up close. Our Guide and our Tracker really made this portion of the trip unbelievable.
2. Cape Town tours including a driving tour, Robbin Island, and Table mountain were awesome, largely due to our guide “Z” from a local travel company.
3. Franschhoek wine tours: Such a beautiful area and our three private tastings highlighted the unbelievable vineyards and South African wine. Lunch at a local restaurant was spectacular. Our tour guide is a wine maker herself and was able to make the trip unforgettable.
4. Capping off our trip with a guided tour of Soweto was the best last day we could hope for and sent us on our trip home with so much valuable historical knowledge.
5. I must mention the guides and drivers we met from the local tour company along the way. I sat in the front seat with the driver for all the tours and transports and every driver was so knowledgeable and eager to share that knowledge about their country. This seemingly insignificant portion of the trip really turned out to be some of our favorite experiences. Drivers should be commended by their company for outstanding effort.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Honestly, due to COVID concerns, we voluntarily cancelled the last few days which were meant to include flights to and from Zimbabwe to visit Victoria Falls. Instead we were able to spend more time in Capetown at the VA Waterfront and Camps Bay/Clifton 4 beach, which was awesome. We hope to return to see Victoria Falls but we are happy with our decision.
