Couple's Vacation Review: Italy 6-Week Tour, History, Culture, Landscape, Beauty & Architecture

My husband and I spent six weeks in Italy, including Sicily.  Highly recommend the travel planner from this travel company and her colleagues in Italy.  Our planner planned our trip based on hours of input regarding our lifestyle and what we considered "must see".  This was our first trip to this country which has unending history/culture, varied and beautiful landscapes, and is a living art gallery including sites of ancient architecture.  Our planner, being familiar with the country through ancestry and personal visits, chose areas in which driving enhanced our visit away from the populated cities.  Otherwise, drivers and guides were assigned to benefit a more relaxing experience. The guides and drivers were exceptional. Currently, Italy is reported to be the most visited country in the world and this was evidenced by unrelenting crowds at every turn.  Small hotels, or apartments, were assigned based on our input.  The selections were ideally located, when possible, close to public transportation or within walking distance to sites/activities.  Places of interest were suggested to assist us to focus on highlights that could be overwhelming if trying to independently choose.  We have planned and traveled independently to other countries but the assistance received to visit Italy was invaluable to our enjoyment and learning curve related to this beautiful, historic country.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and credit this travel company with enhancing this experience on our first time visit.
