European Vacation Review: Croatia, Italy Slovenia, Montenegro, Venice, Ljubljana, Split, Hvar, Lake Bled, Plitvice Lakes

I believe I would spend two nights, rather than 3 in Ljubljana, Slovenia and add an extra day in Hvar . In addition, upon our arrival in Dubrovnik we took a walking tour. Because we had been traveling all day and it was very hot, it made it hard to navigate the crowds and absorb all the history the tour guide had to share.  I would have preferred to have seen the old city from the walls above, first, in order to get an overall feel of the city and to have the unobstructed views and bird's eye view of the city. Then I would have visited the city the next morning, before the cruise ships came in to port so that our experience in the old city would have been more enjoyable. I would also cancel the trip to Montegro. It was a long drive, for just a short time visiting the city. I was under the impression it was a boat trip "in the bay" not a toad trip "near the bay,"so most of our time was spent in the van. Since that was the last day of our trip, I would have preferred to spend time on the beach of our beautiful hotel.
