Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our trip was exactly as we had planned it. Every tour scheduled was exactly as described by our travel agent. Every tour guide we had was incredibly knowledgeable and highly trained. We were given tours by an archeologist of ancient Rome, a Master's degrees art history major of the Colosseum and Roman ruins, a guy who did his thesis on 16th century art for the Vatican museums and on and on. All incredibly high quality.

We had the company arrange a lot of our transportation, which probably cost us more but the comfort in knowing we had people get us to where we needed to be without stressing us out was worth the cost. All the drivers were very nice and talked as much as we wanted them to, or not at all when we were tired and in transit.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Our cooking class in Florence was amazing! We learned to make pasta, ravioli, tomato and meat sauce for our pastas, tiramisu and crostini appetizers for a whole meal. We will be very popular with our friends for these new skills!

Our time in Positano was magical; what a beautiful sea side town with relaxing moments in a lovely location.

Florence was amazing with the architecture dating back from 1000 AD forward, still standing and lived it today.

Rome was astounding with its ancient ruins everywhere. We took a VIP Colosseum tour and got to see parts of this structure that others didn't- under the floor, from the arena floor level and from the top looking onto the arena, plus the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum. Our last night in Rome, we had "dinner with Barbara". I understand that this 'event' is found via word of mouth and I'm thrilled our travel agent booked it for us. We had a 6 course home cooked meal with 11 other travelers and it was wonderful! The food, the wine, the conversation was so great. It was a wonderful way to end our time in Italy- the grand finale for sure!

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Not a thing! Our trip was designed exactly how we wanted it and flowed very nicely. Had I known what a great cooking class was offered, I would have signed us up for the pizza and gelato class too!
