Luxury East Asia Vacation Review: Japan, South Korea

We used this travel agency to plan our trip to Japan.  In the planning stages we decided we would also like to visit South Korea and asked if that could be arranged as well.  We were assured that it could be done and the agent we were working with seemed very knowledgeable about Japan and the interesting things we could also do if we were to visit Seoul.

Our Japan trip was planned magnificently.  However, we were beyond dissatisfied with the services we received in South Korea.  We did not receive tours that matched our descriptions and our guides were not knowledgeable.  For example, on one of our full day tours we were done by 12:07 (including lunch) and were asked mid-day what else we would like to see.  Since we were told it was a full-day tour, we did not research what else we would have liked to do and felt pressured to come up with something so that our day wasn't wasted.  We contacted both the partner agency and our travel agency while in South Korea, but the issue was not addressed satisfactorily.  We asked for price breakdown when it was evident we were not receiving good value for what we had paid and we were told it was not possible to provide us with this information.  We have been back for more than a week and are still awaiting a refund we were told we would get for the company's failure to provide the service we paid for.  Additionally, we let our agent know we wanted to follow through with her when we returned but all we received was a generic email asking about our trip and no effort was made to reach out to us to follow up and discuss our concerns.
