When I was able to get my boss to give me 3 weeks in a row for vacation in 2014, I asked my husband where did he want to go in Europe for our first trip to this continent. He chose Croatia because it was not as well-known of a destination spot. Since I knew nothing about the area, I decided to check out what Zicasso could offer me as well as agencies such as Rick Steves. We ended up going with with this European travel agency, and were very pleased with the results. We would love to return to Eastern Europe in the future, and will definitely use this travel agency to make our connections and stays easy and memorable.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Dubrovnik: rained so hard initially on our trip that the stoned pathways were ankle deep in water! But this lasted only 1-1/2 days, and otherwise we had beautiful weather. The old town was so picturesque and charming! Our apartment was so convenient to the Stradun, and so perfect with its stonewalls and ambience.

Hvar: the killer view from our apartment terrace overlooking the turquoise Adriatic Sea. Getting to know our hosts during our stay there and their schnauzers.

Eating gelato in every town we visited in Croatia!

Plitvice Lakes in the rain. Tons of water and streamlets. Green green green. Had a great driver from Trogir to Zagreb in a comfortable Peugeot station wagon.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Spend more time in Zagreb.
