Luxury Spain Vacation Review: Gaudi's Architecture in Barcelona, Montserrat, Girona, Granada, Seville, Madrid, Tapas & the People

We stumbled across Zicasso quite by accident – a friend had mentioned it to us briefly at lunch one day when we were chatting about our travel wishes.  We are SO HAPPY we checked it out!!  They, and the tour operator in Spain that they connected us with (our trip planner and her team) have been nothing short of AMAZING from beginning to end. 

Zicasso is a custom luxury travel ‘matchmaker’ who connects you with the best travel agents who are specialists in other countries who then customize your trip to your travel goals.  It was so easy: One day we plug in our general information, budget and travel wishes, and the next day we are immediately contacted by a couple of different top rated travel agents from Spain. We selected one and they had excellent recommendations for an itinerary that fit our initial parameters. Very quickly thereafter, we were communicating back and forth, requesting some revisions until our 10-day trip sounded just right to fit our desires. The trip planner from this tour company was very knowledgeable, accommodating and helped us in such a pleasant and friendly manner, no matter how many tweaks we needed to make on the itinerary. Everything was arranged so quickly – the responsiveness to our requests was remarkable, and oh so appreciated.  We have never arranged a trip of this size so easily and quickly.

From the moment we arrived in Spain and throughout our trip, everything we had requested was arranged. We had the most comfortable hotels, incredibly polite and super helpful drivers in luxurious Mercedes Benz vehicles, and we would be greeted by very friendly and English-fluent historical tour guides in each city we visited. Each tour guide was very knowledgeable, engaging and accommodating. They were enthusiastic and entertaining with giving their daily tour and each one felt fresh and full of facts, history and circumstance. They knew their stuff, and we got quite a fascinating education about the spectacular sights in the cities we visited.

This tour company also made all of our plane and train travel arrangements while we were in Spain, and delivered the tickets to us before we left for our trip. And, they had delightful recommendations to the best restaurants and would make reservations for us wherever we wanted to go.

Throughout our trip we had an ongoing dialogue with our planner from this company for anything we needed. As luck would have it, one of our travelers injured her knee right before we left on the trip.  She hobbled around for a couple of days, but then one of our tour guides suggested getting a wheelchair for the rest of the trip. A couple of our hotels had one for us to borrow, but a couple did not.  Not a problem for the planner! Without us even asking, she checked on getting wheelchairs for us, then after our approval, she made arrangements for us to have one waiting for us at the hotel in each city we visited. And, she informed the tour guides in each city we went to so they could make accommodations for what and how we’d be seeing the sights. It was very helpful and made the rest of our trip so much easier for our injured traveler.  

Also, when we had to make an unexpected change to our itinerary during the trip, not a problem for our planner!  Done and done.  This tour company bent over backwards to accommodate our every need during our stay in Spain.  We give them our highest recommendation and heartfelt thanks for making our visit to Spain so superb and memorable.

Suffice it to say, Zicasso will be our go-to online travel company referrer for our next adventure. And, if we ever return to Spain, this tour company will be our choice for travel agent. Gracias!
