Peru Family Vacation Review: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco, Zip-Lining, Sites & Food

Our vacation was awesome. Zicasso’s travel agents were always prompt (we had both travel planners) with their quotes and replies. Their rates were pretty competitive, and much easier to book with them than to try to put it all together themselves. They kept in touch before our trip and sent us traveler’s tips/tricks, our final itinerary and contact info 10 days prior to our trip. The choice of hotels they provided were awesome - luxury in the Sacred Valley and a centrally located hotel while in Cusco.  In Peru, this travel company partners with a local tour company to provide services. Our guides from the local tour company were prompt, friendly and always courteous - and helped us get from place to place efficiently. Our guide for the Machu Picchu hike was pretty great.  Genuine, friendly (but not boisterous), always keeping an eye on a pace that was comfortable without a sense of urgency.  We never felt rushed. The buses that they used were pretty luxurious (compared to the others we saw). Zicasso's travel information and guide for tipping was very helpful!
The only minor feedback (not enough to take away a star) I have for our Zicasso travel agent is the sequence of our activities. We had booked the 2 day Machu Picchu hike and a zip lining trip. When she planned our trip, we landed in Lima, stayed in the Sacred Valley, did our Machu Picchu tour and then stayed in Cusco before our train tour. Sandwiched between our Machu Picchu and train tour was the zip lining tour - which turned out to be in the Sacred Valley. So we had to drive 3 hrs round trip from Cusco. It would have made more sense if the planner had us do the zip-lining tour while we were still staying in the Sacred Valley (to avoid such a commute). Otherwise, we were very happy with services.
