Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Extremely well organized trip. The travel agent was a pleasure to work with, very reactive and professional. He gave us great advise while organizing the trip.
All the guides were amazing, in Quito, in the Galapagos islands, in the Amazon, in Cusco/ Machu Picchu and our guide in Lima.
The hotel selection was perfect.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

We loved the Gapalagos islands. The luxury cruise was a delight, the guide/ naturalist was amazing, well-read and knowledgeable. We were 15 guests on the boat and it was a perfect group. Everything was well-organized.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We had a total of 14 take offs and 10 hotels in 15 days. It was too ambitious and we came back tired.
We were not expecting the 1 day Inca Trail to be that hard and it left us exhausted.

Trips that combine Peru and the Galapagos are probably one of the most frequent types of trips requested. They combine a connection to nature that most people have never experienced before, rich culture, amazing gastronomy and awe-inspiring archaeological sites. However, to accomplish a trip of this nature, certain distances need to be covered and changes of hotels are to be expected. If you are considering a trip like this, plan to travel for as long as you can (13 -15 days recommended) and try to include half or full days at leisure a couple of times during the trip. Finally, don't try to include every archaeological site or experience you can, often less is more! The 1 day Inca Trail is a moderate level hike that can be accomplished by all ages. Our guides are experienced, and are trained to take the trek slowly, including lots of rest stops along the way. There is never a rush to meet certain timelines, and you'll walk about 1 mile per hour. Of course getting in a little exercise in preparation for the trek is always recommended, but not essential.
