Peru Review: Luxury Family Vacation, Sand Boarding, Lunch at Huacachina Village, Nazca Lines, Cusco

I normally plan our trips, but given the number of places we wanted to see in Peru and the logistics involved I decided to give a travel company a try. I could not have asked for a better experience and I wish our trip planner could plan all of our travel. She spent a lot of time up front to understand the activities and experiences we were interested in, how we like to travel, the types of hotels we like to stay in, etc. I had more things on our activities wish list than we could do in the time we had, so given her understanding of our family and our travel needs she helped me pare things down. She also recommended some things I had not thought of (like a free day in Cusco and a day hike to Machu Picchu) both of which were highlights of our trip. We had an amazing time! And, despite the fact that it was probably one of the busiest trips we've taken it was so low stress for me because everything was planned for and taken care of. We just needed to show up downstairs at our hotel in the mornings at the agreed upon time and off we went for our daily adventures. The hotels we stayed at were perfect. The lunch stops that were chosen offered great food experiences that gave us a lot of variety and a real taste for Peruvian cuisine. Our two guides were very knowledgeable, attentive and flexible. We enjoyed our time with them, felt well cared for and were sad to leave them at the end of our trip. Our guide for the first leg even took a lot of pictures on our day hike to Machu Picchu and put together a video with music that he sent to us the next day. Great memories! Highly recommended!
