Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

The trip planning was very detailed and expertly executed. In the early stages of planning they called us on the phone to find out what our needs were, what type of things we wanted to see and do and very important what level of accommodations we desired. We explained we wanted a tour with a small group if possible and we were comfortable with 3 star accommodations. They put together a private tour that included everything we wanted to see and do within our budget.

Our travel agency made sure they were fulfilling what we wanted for our once in a lifetime trip. I have never experienced this level of customer service. They answered emails within 24 hours. If they were going to be closed, they sent an email in advance letting us know.

Additionally, we cannot give enough praises to the guides. Every guide was extremely knowledgeable, well educated and personable.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

There were so many. We found Machu Picchu breathtaking and definitely worth the entire trip. However, the most memorable experience will always be the Sacred Valley Via Ferrata and zipline experience. As I look back I cannot believe my husband and I (we are in our sixties) climbed up 400 meters (1,300 feet) up the face of a cliff to the zipline at 10,000 feet elevation. The zipline was almost anticlimactic. The entire experience took 4 1/2 hours.

You do not want to miss the condors in Colca Canyon, the Islas Ballestas near Paracas, the Nazca Lines and the unbelievable Inca ruins. The Inca people were quite brilliant and innovative.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Review the schedule closely and request our free time be scheduled evenly between the more strenuous activities. Of course at the time we did not know how to judge how strenuous each of the activities would be.
