Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

This was our 2nd trip to Costa Rica (as a couple), though the first as a family (with six year old twins). The planning of the trip was especially efficient and satisfying - communicating with our travel agent to discuss ideal destinations and itinerary options. We ended up with an ideal balance of activities and free time. The travel routing was well-constructed and the services provided on the ground were all very professional, reliable and informed. We had a wonderful variety of experiences and are eager to return again.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Our best wildlife sightings were on the safari float in La Fortuna and on the hikes at Carrara (fantastic visits with the scarlet macaws and toucans). The remote setting, warm personnel and extensive grounds at the lodge were all particularly memorable - a true jungle retreat - and absolutely beautiful. The hot springs at Tabacon were a highlight for all, and the kids were enthralled by the zip line at Manuel Antonio. We loved swimming at Manuel Antonio as well, and the monkey encounters were fun despite the crowds.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

The one notable miscalculation in planning was we were scheduled for a the crocodile boat trip during low tide which made it impossible to actually make it upstream far enough so that we could actually see the crocodiles. A real disappointment. Fortunately, the guide/driver on our last day was willing to stop at the bridge so we could at least view them from there.

Also, given the time and road conditions to make it to the lodge, would make it a minimum two-night stay (which we had, though it was originally booked as one night).
