Review: Family Trip to Croatia & Montenegro, Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Perast, Lokrum, Blue & Green Caves, Game of Thrones

We didn’t know that Lokrum had wonderful swimming holes. Our GOT guide asked us later in the tour whether we had brought swimming suits on the tour to take advantage of these swimming spots. Since it was not included in the GOT description from our agent, we were not able to partake. And since Lokrum was the last part of the GOT tour and we had RT boat tix back to Old Towne, we could have lingered in Lokrum on our own after the tour to swim. I’d recommend that tour company add point about swimming in description. Also, for Montenegro day trip, we were given very little info about what we would be doing with our guide in Perast and Kotor so didn’t know how to prepare (eg bring swimsuits? Ans- no, wearing shoes to climb fortress walls? Ans - yes). I recommend your company include more details about trip so travelers can better prepare.

Unfortunately the Game of Thrones tour does not include swimming time so I did not think of advising you to carry towels with you as the tour is 5 – 6 hours long tour and our guides do not always take the same route. Sometimes the tour ends with Trsteno arborethum. The route depends on traffic in the city on that day.  When we were speaking over the phone before your departure I suggested a few things you could do during your free day in Dubrovnik as islands of Lokrum or Lopud for swimming or cable car to mountain of Srd.

As for Montenegro, I mentioned sightseeing tour of towns of Kotor and Perast, island Lady of Skrpjela (optional) and in the end of the tour I suggested having a dinner in Montenegro and trying local food. We told our driver to make a reservation in the local restaurant in case you were interested in having dinner after the tour. I am so sorry if I did not give you more details about sightseeing in the towns but unfortunately since each local guide has their own way of showing the town it is always hard to say exact places and order of visit.
