Scotland Trip Review: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, St. Andrews, Jacobite Steam Train, Clava Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, Skye

Our trip to Scotland with Jeff of our travel agency was incredible. From the moment of arrival in Edinburgh, Jeff made us feel welcome and relaxed. His planning to all of our destinations and the timing for travel to each were perfect. We didn’t miss a beat. Along the route, Jeff imparted his vast knowledge of Scottish history and local information to make our trip not only beautiful but informative as well. The four of us developed a splendid rapport with Jeff which made our journeys quite comical at times and overall, relaxed and pleasant. 

Throughout our trip, Jeff made every effort to show us not only the well known sites in Scotland, but he was gracious in bringing us to small and intimate locales as well. Taking the time for dining suggestions, introducing us to local shopkeepers and hoteliers and ensuring we had the necessary stops along the way to stretch our legs and take in some local color, such as our stop along the banks of Loch Ness for a small snack with a great view. 
We collected hundreds of pictures and videos as keepsakes from our adventures to share with family and friends in the future. Jeff was very accommodating for those moments when we would need a picture; he would find a safe spot to pull over and allow us to capture the image of that perfect “Heilan Coo”. We also found Jeff to be a superb spelling teacher along the trip. With his delightful Scottish accent, it was sometimes a challenge to understand his references so it became commonplace in the van to simply shout out “spell that please” so that we’d not miss out on what was said. He graciously and generously complied for our benefit every time with a smile.  

Without a doubt, this was the trip of a lifetime, in particular for myself because of my Scottish heritage. Jeff was keenly aware of this fact and went out of his way to insure I had the opportunity to see all of the places special to me, including Dundee, the birthplace of my grandparents. For this, I am truly thankful. If in the future we hear of anyone planning to visit Scotland, we will immediately recommend they use Zicasso and this travel agency for their travel needs!
