Southern Italy Travel Review: Herculaneum, Amalfi, Hiking Path of the Gods, Capri & Ischia Islands, Flora & Fauna

We wanted the 2nd part of our trip to be active, so we enjoyed lots of hiking, swimming, snorkeling, and more.
Our favorites: 
Herculaneum + Vesuvius tour:
The hike up Mt. Vesuvius was breathtaking and very powerful. 
Amalfi & Positano:
Super nice guides and it was super refreshing to swim a few times during the heat wave! We loved Amalfi!
Paths Of The Gods – Hiking Tour:
A totally different perspective of the Amalfi Coast. The 10 km trail connects Positano to Agerola with panoramic sea views along the way. It was super cool passing historic farmhouses and quiet villages. 
Capri Island:
On the way, we saw the Blue Grotto...amazing! Since it was packed (pretty touristy!), we went up the chairlift to Anacapri.  
Hydrofoil to Ischia and Hiking Tour of Mount Epomeo:
Our guide knew every species of insects, trees, shrubs, wildflowers, birds- saw Peregine Falcons!, mammals and more!
It was wonderful staying in Sorrento... convenient and great for exploring at night. Plenty of places to go at night within walking distance. Accommodations at the cliff top hotel overlooking Sorrento Bay were amazing!
