Travel Review: Family Trip to Peru, Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo, Moray

Our family had an amazing experience in Peru and our travel agency played a huge role in it.  From the first interview to the frequent emails, calls and text messages, our travel agent was incredibly patient, accommodating and eager to work with us to give us a memorable experience.  We chose this company over a couple of other travel agents due to their attention to detail and focus on creating a unique experience for us.  Although she is from the US, she knew the country like a native and offered many unique and off-the-beaten-path experiences.  Some in our family had dietary restrictions and she eased our concerns and made sure we had options for food that accommodated those needs.  The ultimate test for a travel agent is when things don't go per plan.  We had two such experiences - once when our train back from Aguas Calientes was delayed due to an accident on the tracks and another when our flight from Cusco to Lima was canceled putting our trip back to the US that night in jeopardy.  On both occasions, regardless of time of day (or night), our agent was available to answer our questions, helped make alternate arrangements, and worked with her network to make sure we would have options in case the worst case scenario developed.  Our guide provided excellent service.  He was passionate about the Peruvian and Incan history and shared a wealth of knowledge about all the places we visited.  Our driver, was an expert on navigating us through challenging roads and crowded tourist spots.
