Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

The travel company was very supportive, responsive and professional. The trip was very good. I would have selected a few different hotels, especially the hotel in Buenos Aires, which while a nice hotel in a fashionable area of town, was an exceptionally long walk from the sites in town that my son and I wanted to visit. Also, while it was no fault of the travel agent, the price of the Argentina peso dropped more than 20 percent after I booked/paid for the trip, which meant that if I booked the trip myself, the hotels, tours and other costs would have been considerably less if I paid after I arrived in Argentina. I realize if the peso had risen considerably, I would not be expressing this comment.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

My son and I enjoyed el Califate most, especially the visit to the glacier. We also very much enjoyed el Bariloche (the nature tour and the half day of horseback riding/visit to a ranch), and the boat ride on the river in Iguazu Falls. All the tour guides were also very good.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I have planned probably 8 or 9 trips in the past 10 years overseas, all to Europe with the exception of one to Thailand. For the trips to Europe I use guidebooks along with all of the information available on the Internet and have been able to structure the trips exactly as I have wanted, with no down time. I decided for this trip to Argentina I would use a travel agent since I was planning a ten-day trip for my wife and daughter to Europe in April and I felt that I did not have adequate time to also plan the trip to Argentina (even though I told the travel agent which cities within Argentina I wanted to visit). I don't think the travel agent could have done much about the two days of our vacation within Argentina that were entirely used as travel days, but I hate to "waste" that much time at airports. I'm sure most people do not want to be busy all of the time on a vacation, but I do, so I would have added additional activities.
