Travel Review: Father & Sons' Trip to Germany, Local Culture & History, Hiking

Ah, there are so many.  Having personal tour guides at numerous locations was truly wonderful.  We didn't have a lot of time at any one location, so their knowledge and thoroughness helped us to take in the locality, history, social situation, etc.  Frankly, in one location, Neuschwanstein Castle, if the personal tour hadn't been arranged I am quite sure we would have arrived, observed the tremendous crowds and chaos, and turned around without setting foot in the castle.  Furthermore, there is no way we would have gotten the same sense of King Ludwig and the uniqueness of the building without that tour.
