Travel Review: Honeymoon in Italy, Rome, Florence, Venice, Wine Tours, Cooking Lesson

In Italy my wife and I travelled up the country visiting Rome, Florence, and ending the trip in Venice. Rome in itself is a historical sight to behold. Everywhere you look there is a piece of history, preserved in all of its glory. We loved being in the middle of all that, but at the same time enjoyed being able to get away to Florence. Florence was a bit more slow going. We went on a wine excursion and saw the many vineyards were the grapes were locally grown! We walked inside the wineries to the cellars, and had semi-private taste testings, then ended the day with a delicious lunch looking out over the mountainous region! In Florence the day after the wine excursion we had a private cooking class where we learned how to make authentic Italian cuisine from scratch. Once we prepared the food, we then cooked it and had dinner with our chef! In Venice, the uniqueness of the waterways was brilliant! It is an island, connected by 415 bridges allowing no room for cars or vespas. Everywhere was accessible by foot! St. Mark Square was a sight to behold and relax in. One evening we took a gondola ride during the sunset, which was remarkable. These were only a few of the memorable experiences we had, yet I do not believe there was one piece of this trip that was our most enjoyable. If we had to choose our most memorable part, we would have to say the culture. It was unbeatable.
