We would spend less time in Delhi. Because of the traffic we couldn't get to see some of the sights on our itinerary. The air quality, the size and the traffic make it an very unpleasant place, although I'm sure it has much to offer.

We would also have a more varied itinerary. We asked for temples and archaeological  sites and we got those in spades (oh my, another mogul fort). We would have liked some attention to the foodie aspects of India, maybe a cooking class or some care and discussion about choosing restaurants so that we get a variety of regional cuisines rather than just the tourist-oriented butter chicken.

We also asked for music and dancing and other cultural aspects of India. The tour company was very accommodating when I found a classical music concert although the guide did rush us to leave when the program was running long. But the agency itself didn't seem to know where to find such things. They offered to take us to a Bollywood movie when I said I was interested in a Bollywood stage show I had seen advertised. 

We would also want more time without guides but with guidance on where to eat or spend some time from the agency.
