Travel Review: Italy Vacation, Florence, Rome, Venice, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Tuscany, Siena, San Gimignano, Sistine Chapel Tour

Sometimes it takes a leap of faith to put yourself in the care of a company you have no personal experience with.  Traveling in a foreign country involves a lot of time, expense, and uncertainty.  In the case of booking our vacation through this travel agency, it was the best decision I could've made.  

Four of us--two couples in our 60s--spent 11 days in Italy, including stays in Venice, Florence, Rome, and on the Amalfi Coast. Every detail of our trip was perfect and each and every phase of the planning exceeded our expectations.  From the accommodations to the seamless transfers, the intercity train trips, the day trips, and especially the guides, I can't imagine a better option or a better value.   Our agent and his staff replied to every question and concern quickly and professionally.  We provided our travel company a general idea of our interests, places we wanted to visit and our budget and they took our very rough sketch and returned a masterpiece. 

More details about the guides he uses for personalized trips:  I've done many group tours with great guides, but questioned the value of a personalized guide.  Never again!  The depth of knowledge, friendliness, personal experience and ability to tailor our tours just for us made the history come alive.  All of the guides our agent selected in Venice, Florence, and Rome had advanced degrees and two had ph.D.'s.  We spent two days with our guide in Rome and I believe he could have recited all 266 of the Catholic popes in order with details of each papacy. While other tourists were waiting in long queues then listening to recorded tour information through throwaway headphones,we were skipping the lines and being treated like VIPs.
