TRAVEL COMPANY

My travel agent did a perfect job communicating with me.  Every time I had a question she was prompt and thorough answering it - the customer service was top notch.

The vouchers for transportation to and from events and flights, as well as the vouchers for the events themselves, were seamless.  There was only one small typing mistake by our tour company indicating 2 meals on the Milford Sound excursion rather than the actual 1 meal, but otherwise there wasn't a single hiccup the entire trip.  

There was a problem caused by the bus drivers at Waitomo Bay.  I went to Waitomo Bay in one bus and was to return in a different bus.  When I exited the caves, the bus driver pointed out the return bus to me.  I stood by this bus for 20 minutes.  The return bus driver was angry with me that I didn't go to the cafeteria to get the lunch that was included in my trip.  I told him that I was angry about being told to stand by the bus, and, I didn't get that lunch.  The bus drivers did not give me correct instructions on where I was supposed to be.

TRIP

If I were to do this trip over, there is one major thing I would change and that is reducing the amount of idle time.  There were far too many days when I had hours and hours of "free" time.   

In the planning stage, the travel company must be clearer on how long each event will take.  The traveller can see how much idle time is included in each day.
