Travel Review: Luxury Family Vacation to Greece & Turkey, Santorini, Istanbul, Bodrum Gullet Cruise, Mykonos ATV Tour

Our agent created the most incredible interesting, fun, educational,  creative, and relaxing 30 day itinerary for my family for Turkey(2 weeks) and Greece(2 weeks).  I cannot say enough about the details and the flexibility that she delivered.  When you travel for long periods of time, you come across different needs.  First off, my luggage, we travelled with 9 large bags to multiple destinations. She was able to manage all of this with ease and even with the incredibly fast ferry boarding and departures for the Greek Isles. We had the most knowledgeable private guides who not only accommodated our curiosity but made it fun for our children (12, 11 and 7).  She made sure that if we had a busy sightseeing day or two, the following day or two we would take a break and be on our own to explore ourselves or to recuperate by the ocean.  I, also, need to mention that we are not the easiest family to work with. At some point in our trip our nanny left us and my husband came to join our trip.  The airline tickets in themselves could have been a wasted day to manage but they weren’t.  I also met new friends in Istanbul and invited them to join me for a couple days and nights on our gullet in Bodrum and she was able to arrange for us to meet them at a seaside village to come aboard.  Being the family that we are, we not only enjoy the day guided trips but also like to explore the nightlife in each town.  Our agent arranged for car pick ups at 4:30am in the morning so we wouldn’t be gallivanting around on our ATVs in Mykonos after a few drinks and because that is what life is like in Greece. She also, last minute, arranged for all of our flights to be pushed back into the late afternoon and booked us a temporary hotel until our flight so that I could go out late in the town of Bodrum.  And yet, another example of her help, we had an issue at one restaurant which only served seafood, which my children don’t really eat. One email to our agent and she was on the phone with the manager within 5 minutes and having pizza delivered to our children. Wow.  Mostly though, we learned so much about life and history of these two wonderful countries. The private guides were able to tie everything into what the children had learned in school about Greek mythology, the Silk Road, and ancient history. Even more so, they gave our children a sense of what life was like growing up in Turkey and Greece with regard to education, food, day to day living and a sense of self and national pride.  We did not want to come back home.  Thank you so much for your help and your excellent care.
