Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

While the accommodations were excellent and the travel arrangements provided useful and convenient, the overall cost we paid for the services were probably not very cost effective and more expensive than if we had planned a similar (or exactly the same) trip on our own.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The ryokan in Hokkaido was the most luxurious and spectacular accommodation we have ever stayed in anywhere. The rooms were fabulous, the meals (dinner and breakfast) amazingly scrumptious, and the staff service superb.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Not use a travel company unless we wanted to specifically go on a guided tour with a tour guide/group and save money by making our own independent travel arrangements (which we did do for part of our trip to Japan and found that the travel we planned on our own for two weeks ended up costing less than the week planned by the tour company).

Great to hear you had such an amazing trip. Japan is a very diverse and beautiful country. It can, however, be
tricky to figure out before arrival so we are glad we were able to provide some structure to your travel plans before setting out on your own. We are also thrilled we were able to provide you with such a special experience at the ryokan in Hokkaido, truly a once in a lifetime experience.
