Travel Review: Luxury New Zealand Anniversary Vacation, Nelson, Auckland, Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruise, Hawkes Bay

That is a question that is impossible to answer!  There were so many!  However, one of the highlights was our overnight trip to Doubtful Sound.  It featured spectacular scenery that pictures simply do not do justice.  The crew on the ship were incredibly friendly and helpful.  The food was also very good.  

Another highlight was our Progressive Wine Dinner in the Hawkes Bay area.  The company did an amazing job.  We traveled to three different wineries for appetizers, entrees and dessert.  All were accompanied by great New Zealand wines.

The last highlight that I would list is specific to us and I'm sure isn't done for all clients.  My husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary on this trip. Our agent had told us she was planning a special celebratory dinner for us on our last night in New Zealand.  What a celebration we had!  We expected a nice restaurant dinner.  Oh, no.  It was much nicer than that!  Our travel team personally prepared a gourmet dinner for us with champagne and wine at the company owner's home!!  We were absolutely blown away by their thoughtfulness and willingness to share themselves in this way.  The food was outstanding, too!  We couldn't have spent a more delightful evening and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our agents.  We got to see a very beautiful country and felt like we actually got to know the New Zealand people, as well.
