Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our trip to New Zealand was spectacular. Our agent and this travel company did a bang-up job of planning an itinerary that was perfect for us. Each accommodation was spotless, comfortable and in a great location. There were no mistakes on the activities. Each time we were supposed to be picked up somewhere, we got picked up. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. It could not have gone better. Every expectation was realized.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Our stay in Nelson was probably the favorite part of our trip. The Shelbourne Villa B&B was perfect. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Val and Wayne were charming hosts and Val is a wonderful cook. We were within walking distance of many restaurants, bars and shops. Nelson is a beautiful city. So clean. Kayaking on Abel Tasman Sound was a highlight.

We also loved our flight back from Milford Sound in the fixed-wing airplane. So breathtakingly beautiful.

We adore Robert, our Maori guide in Napier. We so enjoyed chatting with him and seeing his ancestral land and his home. He is truly a treasure.

The wine tasting tour in Queenstown was awesome. Our tour guide Martin was so knowledgeable and personable. All the people at the wineries were very welcoming and also personable.

We made sidetrips to Arrowtown that were really enjoyable.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I'm not saying I would forgo the cruise on Milford Sound, but it was incredibly crowded. The views are of course amazing. We were very glad we had pre-chosen to take an airplane back to Queenstown. The views from the airplane were also fabulous.

On our drive from Nelson to Kaikoura, we stopped in Picton. I really loved Picton and wished we could have spent more time there.

I would probably skip the visit to Christchurch.
