Travel Review: Luxury Poland, Hungary, & Czech Republic Vacation, Prague, Krakow, Warsaw, Lobkowicz Palace, City Tours, 2-Week Tour

I would skip the salt mine outside of Krakow. The group-tour audio equipment was of poor quality, and the guide (not a travel company guide, but one who works at the site) had a poor command of English. The place was a tourist trap.
In addition, we might have been better off seeing Auschwitz on our own. The guides have to adhere to a schedule to keep the crowds moving, and so I felt a bit rushed and wasn't able to pay close attention to the details. Our guide was knowledgeable, but he provided the same commentary to our group -- mostly made up of native New Yorkers in their '70's, including one from a survivor family -- that he would have given a group of young people with no connection to these events.
Finally, I was less than enthralled with our dinner cruise on the Danube. The food was good, but I would have preferred to hear about what we were looking at; instead, we were treated to a selection of American pop tunes.
