Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

They are first class, the guides made our trip seem very customized, avoided the crowds, and always made our enjoyment the first priority. They handled all of the logistics that can make a trip seem not worth it some times. Even the changes they made during some of our day trips were to avoid congestion or adjust to comments we made. Manal and her crew are wonderful. Our guides were pretty special and they were full of knowledge. They shared their culture through their words, the food, and the wonderful places we visited.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The Cruise- stopping at temples along the way, pampering us completely. No, maybe the trip to Abu Simbel and the Nubian House B & B. I am sure it was the great pyramids at GIZA. We loved riding donkies above the Valley of the Kings and watching the sunrise. All of it was wonderful, a trip beyond comprehension for a family who loves history, the beautiful Nile and the friendly, welcoming people of Egypt.

Our special trips really helped see Egypt away from the temples and meet so many wonderful people who invited us for tea after bargaining for goods, taking their picture, or just because they are so welcoming. .

Very glad we flew instead of taking the train from Cairo to Abu Simbel.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Our daughter speaks Arabic and her skills really helped people warm to us. We also traveled in a group of four and a guide versus 30+. I would take a few more days so we could rest a little in the middle. However, the sum of that means I would not change it!

However, have money(pound) for toilets, know where ATMs are , and focus on seeing what is there and not just taking a million pictures.
