Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

The staff at this travel company, in particular our agents were extraordinary. Their compassion and attention to detail, organization and patience reminded me of the way things used to be. Prior to contacting this travel company, I had spoken with 2 local travel agents who were not helpful. We knew we wanted to see Macchu Picchu; however were not certain what other activities we wanted. Our agent was terrific. We went through many obstacles, as a family, planning this trip and he hung in there, every step of the way. He was prompt in responding to emails and inquiries prior to the trip and all the way through our trip. Our other travel agent was responsive when we encountered some difficulty with a hotel. I give this company 5 stars, without reservation.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

Foremost, our tourist guides made the trip as memorable as they could. they were patient, flexible, engaging and encouraging. The travel company certainly chose a perfect agency to team with. The whitewater rafting, while way colder than we thought it would be, was so much fun, as was the meal after (one of the best meals during the week). Our Inca Trail hike and Macchu Picchu was, of course, terrific. One of our members had challenges on the trail and our guide could not have been more accomodating. Lastly, we engaged in a cooking lesson that seemed "kind of interesting". This turned out to be one of the best experiences.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I would research the hotels more carefully prior to agreeing to all hotels, as one hotel was quite substandard in multiple ways. I would also ask the travel agent for suggestions during our "free time" prior to our trip, as we would have liked to do 2 other activities; however by the time we found out about them, we were too late. I would have researched the activities more carefully, as one activity was not as described.
