Travel Review: Portugal Tour, Lisbon, Porto, Food & Wine, Local Culture, Hiking, Cooking Experiences

Our travel agent custom-tailored a trip that matched our interests in cooking, hiking, wine drinking, and living like a local. Upon arrival, she greeted me in Porto (several hours away from her home), and also gave us a warm goodbye at the airport when we departed home from Lisbon. She also gave us a phone and an internet gateway to use throughout the trip. Both devices were *extremely* useful and re-assuring to have at all times. We did not expect to have private drivers everywhere, but were treated like royalty and given excellent recommendations for where to visit and have dinner during our free time. Most meals were included during our excursions, which was also a very nice surprise...and they included wine, desserts, coffee, etc. On our last couple of days, we decided that we wanted to explore Lisbon some more, rather than taking one last tour of the surrounding area. Our agent was available over the weekend to re-accommodate our request. We really appreciated her flexibility and how accessible she was before our arrival and throughout our journey.
