Everything about our trip was handled very well.  Beginning with the planning process and throughout our interaction with our travel agency and it's guides and drivers.  We asked to have the chance to interact with local people and we certainly had that opportunity.  We had special experiences because our guides were part of the communities we visited and went out of their way to show us unique things.
