Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Our praises go to our travel agent. We made a number of changes to our itinerary (e.g., removing a city, changing hotels, etc) and our agent was extremely helpful and willing to make those adjustments for us. He was very patient and accommodating to our needs without being pushy.
When we encountered circumstances beyond the travel company's control (airlines canceling/ or changing flights, venues being closed (giant Leshan Buddha), hotel being full), our travel agent proposed alternatives and helped us to come up with options that were acceptable to us.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The selection of Chinese lunch restaurants were very good. We enjoyed the tastes of authentic Chinese dishes and the ambiance of each restaurant chosen for us. The only restaurant we did NOT like was a Peking Duck restaurant. It was definitely very touristy and the food was below par. That was a disappointment.
The countryside bike tour in Yangshuo/Guilin was our favorite excursion. We got a chance to see up close the working and living areas of "old" China. Our tour guide in Guilin, was our favorite and was excellent. He was friendly, informative, helpful, knowledgeable and always thinking ahead to let us know what was coming up so we wouldn't miss details.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

As we mentioned above, we would not go to that Peking Duck restaurant again. Nor would we recommend it to anyone. We feel it was NOT a good representation of peking duck to newbies of this famous dish.
We prefer and enjoy the "old" parts of China. Seeing many of the mega malls with many western stores were not impressive since we have them at home.
