Belize Tour Review: Xunantunich, Snorkeling, Islands, Chocolate Experience, 1-Week Vacation

The most memorable parts were being immersed in the culture and experiencing traditions firsthand.

Visiting the women's co-op to learn how to make tortillas by hand and pottery was an experience unlike any other. Learning how to make chocolate from beans was entertaining and insightful. Our tour guide had a wealth of knowledge. They called him the walking encyclopedia. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to see the "heaven, earth, and underworld" in one experience by visiting the Barton Creek Caves and Xunantunich. We enjoyed our time snorkeling and island hopping. Seeing the reefs up close provides a different perspective.

Both hotels, in Cayo District and Placencia, were excellent. The food was top-quality and the staff were excellent and so friendly. They have a ton of on-site activities in which to partake.
