Egypt Family Vacation Review: Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Nile River Cruise, Valley of the Kings, Local Cuisine

There are a few activities I might swap out for others (for example, we had a private yacht trip down the Nile, but it was too fancy for us!), and we probably could have done without a driver in Luxor for some of our activities as we are big walkers, but these are things we wouldn't have foreseen ahead of time.

I also would have read more about the negotiation and haggling culture in Egypt so we were better prepared. We knew we would need to negotiate for things, but sometimes in the moment, you are caught off-guard because you are in a situation in which you would not expect negotiation and you are also trying to convert currency. For example, I paid the equivalent of €12 outside a temple for three sodas. I should have just put them back, but I was hot and thirsty and wasn't thinking about what £400 pounds was in euros, so I just paid it.
