Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

The trip was enjoyable overall but there were some aspects that I was disappointed with. The hotel quality was not as I would have hoped. We had to deal with late check-ins even though we were arriving by plane early in the day and that information was not shared with the hotels to facilitate checking in earlier.
The activities that were booked were fun! We especially enjoyed the cooking classes that were booked for us to do both in Nice and Paris. It was a wonderful way to get immersed in the culture of the area and interact with other travelers and locals. The Normandy D-Day tour was incredible. We had a guide who has done 3 documentaries on the subject, and he shared the personal accounts of soldiers that he has interviewed. Our tour guide in the small ville of Bayeux was delightful, she had in depth local knowledge and was utterly charming.
The highlight for my son was our time in Nice. That was by far the best hotel experience. There was some disappointment with the 4 hour car tour to Eze and Monaco. The driver was incredibly nice, and we enjoyed speaking with him but we were left to try and navigate around the unfamiliar territory at night with no guide. He even brought up that he wanted to speak with his boss that the "tour" really needs a dedicated guide to be with clients since as the driver he has to stay with the vehicle. That being said, he did a fabulous job of giving us history and making the trip the best it could be. The same driver transported us to the airport in Nice a few days later.
The transportation to and from the hotels was smooth and it was a relief to have a driver waiting for us at the airports and our hotels.
I would suggest that first time users of Zicasso go over every step in deep detail to ensure that there is understanding on both sides of what is requested/booked etc.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The Normandy Tour, The Bayeux Tapestry tour in the Normandy region.
The cooking classes in Nice and Paris were the most fun.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

We would not do as much traveling in country. Changing hotels every couple of days was difficult, we could not really settle in and there was a continual worry over forgetting items. The decision to move around was ours, not the travel agents so that is a lesson learned for us.

I understand that your disappointment comes mainly from the fact that you were not informed precisely enough upon the check-in conditions of the hotels. Indeed, these check-ins are usually done between 1pm and 3pm. If you arrive earlier, the staff can store the luggage in a secure place. And if your room is available and clean, they’re usually happy to give access to you without any charge. But during high season, most of the rooms are occupied the day before your arrival, and check-outs being at 11am, it takes a couple of hours to set the rooms. For travelers who want absolutely an early check-in, we have not other option than ask them to pay the night before their arrival.

I regret that this information was not clearly enough explained to you.
