Overall, this was an absolutely incredible adventure truly made possible by this travel agency! Our trip designer and her team from this agency did an excellent job listening to us and making her recommendations to us about our recent trip to Italy. Working together we had a wonderful adventure! It was a complicated trip covering 15 days, 8 locations, and virtually every transportation means. The hotels, tour guides and drivers were superb. The guides were not just highly educated and knowledgeable about their subjects, they were locals whose local knowledge added extra benefit to our tours. The drivers were timely, courteous and safe. All travel internal to Italy was well coordinated including train tickets and water taxis in Venice. There is no way we could have enjoyed everything we did without this travel team. Just as important as the detailed planning and coordination in preparation for the trip, our trip designer "was with us" every step of the way. She checked on us during transition points, and made adjustments to the itinerary and arrangements to accommodate necessary and desired changes.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

It is difficult to rate any one thing better than any other because we saw and did so much and they were all excellent. Our two couple traveling team had differing experience levels and interests, and the trip satisfied all of them. For example, for one of us learning more about a grandfather in Milan was a highlight. Two of us enjoyed the smaller places more Lake Como, Cinque Terre and Tuscany (Siena tour top notch) but our tour of the Vatican was probably the best. Of course if art was a passion, virtually every stop was a treasure. We had outstanding tour guides that made each place come to life. Going from small to large was good, too. If we had started with Rome and the Vatican the smaller churches and towns would not have been as good. The grand finale of our trip being Rome, the Colosseum and the Vatican was perfect.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

With the days we had, we did as well as well could. Extra days in Tuscany allowed us to catch our breath. Between our day trips to Florence and Siena, we got to see San Gimignano and Monteriggioni on our own. We could have stayed longer in Portovenere as it was lovely, but we had so much else to do and see. The designer helped us plan our days to maximize our opportunities to see the things we wanted to see and assisted us in seeing things we didn’t know we should see but really enjoyed!
