Italy Luxury Travel Review: Rome, Bologna, Chianti, Florence, Private Tours, Local Cuisine, 12-Night Trip

Not much.  I must say I found the visit to Ferrara underwhelming and not worth the drive and time away from Bologna.  Also, by sheer coincidence, two of the restaurants where we had scheduled to dine, had later added cultural events for the night (one was a music concert at a Michelin starred restaurant on the edge of Cortona, and the other a lecture on Da Vinci given in Italian at a restaurant in Bologna).  While the events themselves were pleasant enough, they did cause a change to a fixed set menu that was quite disappointing given the caliber of the restaurants.  It was like a convention dinner with everyone trying to be served at once and all the food blandly prepared and arriving at less than optimal temperature.  If this happens, I would suggest unless you are strongly drawn to the cultural event, change your choice of restaurants.
