Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

We had the most wonderful time, and the responsiveness of the travel company was great. Whenever we had a question, we got an answer very quickly. The services provided were, on the whole, on time, and efficient. Issues that cropped up were few, minor and quickly resolved.
The hotels all had their plusses and minuses. The first hotel in Florence was charming, the staff warm and it was in a great location. The bed was not especially comfortable and the A/C a bit noisy but generally we enjoyed ourselves.
The connecting flights were a little uncomfortable. I wish we had upgraded our seats (this is the commuter flights from Barcelona to Florence, and from JFK to Miami).

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

My wife and I have a hard time answering this, because there were so many. If we had to pick two, it was the boat ride/swimming in the Ligurian Sea in Cinque Terre and the 15-mile bike ride through Tuscan vineyards (with the wonderful lunch at the end of it).

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

I think we'd upgrade our hotels or maybe the rooms:
Florence -- the bed was not especially comfortable and the A/C rattled.
Cinque Terre - upgrade to a view of the sea. Otherwise, the room was great (maybe a tad small).
Tuscany - No complaints!
Rome -- A tad small (or maybe we just need to learn to pack better!)
Flying to and from, we'd upgrade the shorter legs of our flights and opt to fly from JFK directly to Fort Lauderdale. There was no reason for us to return to Miami, but that was on us. We could have noted that when booking.
Regarding the itinerary, now that we are better versed in Italy, we probably would not have spent so much time in the Florence metropolitan area. We probably should have scheduled to go to Naples, for example, and work our way to Rome. However, that's a note borne of experience. We still had the most wonderful time.
