Our trip to Italy was wonderfully put together with the help of this travel agent who made certain that our two week vacation in Italy was all that we had hoped for. Despite a few minor hick ups, the overall feeling in reflecting upon our two weeks in Italy was that we would definitely feel comfortable using this company again. Our agent made certain that he was available to assist if needed and was very attentive to our wishes and the work that he put into planning our vacation was clearly evident throughout our trip.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

My wife and I had communicated with our agent prior to our trip and had expressed our wishes about where we would like to go and the type of experience we wanted while in Italy. Basically, our trip was arranged so that we could experience the different regions of Italy.

Our trip began with a three days in the Dolomites (Cortina) giving us time to hike and explore but also to witness the majesty of the Italian Alps for ourselves. We then moved on to experience the Italian Riviera (Cinque Terre) and we were most fortunate throughout to have beautiful weather for most of our vacation. We then experienced the Italian countryside with four days in Siena in Tuscany that included a day trip to Florence where we were masterfully educated about this beautiful city by our guide who provided us with a wonderful tour of this ancient city. Our final destination was Rome where we limited our time to tour and took time just to explore this beautiful city on our own. It's hard to pinpoint the most enjoyable parts of our vacation as each brought its own unique quality that added so much to our experience in Italy.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

It's only been a week since our return and so we will need to give more time to analyzing what we would want to do differently. As I mentioned above, reflecting upon our trip only brings a smile to our faces and mentally pushes us to think about where we might want to spend our next vacation.

One thing that we would want to do differently, which is one of the hiccups that I mentioned above, is to be sure to schedule our tour of the museums in Florence on a day when they are not closed. As our VIP private tour of Florence was scheduled on a Monday both the Uffizi and the Academia museums were unavailable to us and that was a disappointment. However, my wife and I had a wonderful day in Florence with our guide and we certainly feel that we will need to take more time to take advantage of all the wonderful things that this beautiful city has to offer.
