Italy Vacation Review: Florence Gardens, Cinque Terre Views, Siena, San Gimignano, Rome's History, Amazing Food

We probably could have been ok in hotels instead of apartments to save some money. We opted for apartments for access to a kitchen and washing machine for the baby. But the hotel accommodations were a little more comfortable, especially the consistent hot water for baths! We also would have gone to Chianti instead of Sienna/San Gimignano. Those were wonderful, but we were hoping for more of a countryside relaxing winery day trip. The Sienna/San Gimignano tour guide was so great. Very friendly, informative, and accommodating. The Cinque Terre driver was a little rude and not accommodating at times. He didn't really give us interesting information about the place as we were driving, wouldn't let us change our baby or let her eat a snack in the van (on a very long drive), and even admitted to being hung over at the beginning of the trip. When we asked questions, he was a little condescending with his answers. We also should have flown out of Venice and gone there for a day or overnight, instead of having to go back to Rome.
