Your overall comments on the trip and the travel company:

Solid trip. The travel company was helpful but I would use a different company if we return to Costa Rica. Guides and activities were great. 1/2 hotels were perfect. Too much time riding in cars even after canceling a 4 hr round trip day tour (at my expense). Could have been more kid friendly.

What were the most enjoyable or memorable parts of your trip?

The resort in Arenal was amazing. Great activities and initial itinerary.

If you could take your trip again, what would you do differently?

Less driving. Second hotel/resort was too isolated. Surf lessons on a beach with actual waves.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your positive review regarding our guides and drivers, we have an amazing team on the ground who loves what they do. I appreciate your feedback and I will share your comments with all of my team who made an effort on this trip.
I am so glad my recommendation on the first property was great for you and your family. I took seriously all your requirements such as bed configuration, food needs, preferences in different activities, etc and I knew this property was the perfect fit for your family. We listened to every single detail for you to have the best experience as well as your kids especially since they were so interested in animals and adventure.
I am sorry the second hotel did not achieve your expectations. This hotel is a 5-star property, with different dining options and menus, unfortunately not close to a town as it is located on a Peninsula, although it has access to three beach areas and incredible views, and a marina. We had reviewed in the past other locations closer to a town with surfing areas but still 4 hours away from the volcano area. I believe the idea for ending your trip in this location was just only 40 minutes from the Liberia airport.
My mistake perhaps was not mentioning that to avoid land transportation we could have arranged a private flight ( charter ) which is very common in Costa Rica for people who want to avoid long distances but of course a more expensive option.
