Luxury Croatia Travel Review: Zagreb, Rovinj, Hvar, Split, Dubrovnik, Motovun, Groznjan, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Vis

There were many enjoyable and memorable parts of this trip. A private sightseeing tour and wine and cheese tasting got us off to a good start in Zagreb, and the Hotel was the perfect place to refresh and recover from our 14 hour flight and jet lag. Rovinj was a wonderful little jewel of a town, romantic and easily walkable. Our hotel in the heart of the old town was perfectly located for easy access to all that Rovinj had to offer. The private sightseeing tour to Motovun and Groznjan was a highlight of the trip. After the tour we were treated to a three course lunch at Mondo Restaurant featuring local truffles. The location, the service, and the meal were outstanding. Plitvice Lakes National Park and Krka National Park were both spectacular. We especially enjoyed Plitvice because it was less densely crowded when we were there so there were more opportunities to explore and take photographs. Our hotel in Split was again located in the center of the old town which made it easy to walk and explore this beautiful city. The Winery wine and food pairing was another highlight; a unique tasting menu paired with excellent local wines. On the island of Hvar we enjoyed an authentic Croatian lunch, and on our return to Split, an oyster farm visit and tasting. During our stay on Hvar we enjoyed a yacht excursion to Vis and a sailing tour to the Paklinski Islands, both were great fun and memorable experiences. Finally, Dubrovnik was amazing; the history, the architecture, the wall, we're already talking about wanting to go back!!
