Luxury Egypt Tour Review: Nile Cruise, Aswan, Cairo, Luxor, Pyramids, Temples, Swimming

The most remarkable part of our trip was our cruise on the Nile in a small and very elegant Dahabiya sail boat. (Another travel agency tried to dissuade us from this Nile cruise) but our company encouraged it.  We shared the boat with a hand full of other guests, all of which were interesting and somewhat adventurous people.  The Nile was very peaceful and had a tremendous amount of natural beauty.  We would moor in exclusive and remote places for the evenings and marvel at the beauty while being served a delicious meal while watching the sunset.  The days were spent touring temples that we would be taken to on horse drawn carriages, followed by exhilarating swimming in the Nile!  I cannot say enough good about this boat trip.  If you like out of the ordinary specialized experiences, this is for you.  We look forward to doing it again someday.
Our second favorite was the town of Aswan.  The Nile is especially gorgeous here.  We were enchanted by the Old Cataract
hotel.  We stayed in the OLD section which is very palace-like and had a balcony overlooking the Nile.  Watching sunset from this perch was one of my favorite visuals of all time. Be sure to take a darling colorfully festooned boat ride around the Nile in this area.   Also we loved visiting a Numbian family and learning about these very happy and kind spirited people.
