Luxury Egypt Travel Review: Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Pyramids, Philae Temple, Sunset Camel Ride

We returned home on November 17, tired but still marveling and excited over our extraordinary adventure of ancient “rocks, ruins, temples and tombs” in Egypt. We can’t say enough about the work done by our Zicasso-recommended custom tour operator. 

Planning:  From the very beginning, New Jersey-based travel company owner, Mahmoud, made it clear that he was on a mission to personally ensure that we had the “trip of a lifetime” in his native land. Always available and responsive to us by zoom, phone, text or email, Mahmoud was incredibly open, knowledgeable, and flexible. An accomplished Egyptologist, himself, Mahmoud helped us craft a bespoke travel itinerary that addressed all of our interests and ensured that our time was best spent. He offered hotel, cruise and programing options and provided expert insights to aid our selections, along the way. Mahmoud’s careful planning made sure we saw and did everything on our “bucket list…and then some!

Execution:  Once planned, all details and components of our 4-person adventure were flawlessly executed. All meet and greet services, hotel and Nile cruise ship accommodations, overland and intra-Egypt air transportation, visa and guide services were expertly communicated, confirmed and delivered. Never did we worry about details of our adventure.

Personnel: Our van drivers were always safety-conscious and professional; our airport and hotel meet and greet personnel helpful and accommodating. However, the “star” of our trip was, undoubtedly, our full-time Egyptologist guide!  He was engaging, enthusiastic, attentive, flexible and supremely knowledgeable. And, try as I did, I could never contradict his historical/archaeological commentary by my own guide book or Youtube research! He should record his “lectures” for general sale. He’s more engaging than Zahi Hawass!

Cost:  Zicasso provided us with three excellent, professionally capable, and competent tour operator options for our early consideration. All three offered tour itineraries at comparable prices for the 4-person, custom tour itinerary that we envisioned. I believe we received excellent value for the dollar invested from this travel company.
