We would not stay in towns but only in countryside lodges.

We would probably not go to Hawkes Bay.

We would probably spend more time in Northland.

TRAVEL COMPANY COMMENTS:

While we are delighted with the overall positive comments, there is no doubt that the clients star rating for this trip was not at our usual five star level, as they had a lot of bad luck over excursions being cancelled due to weather conditions. As such, there were components of the trip being impacted by matters outside our control. Initially we had to change some plans before the clients arrived due to the Kaikoura earthquake and then, in particular, they were very unlucky with some weather disruptions. We talked during the trip and adjusted the last few nights so that they could travel up north where the weather was better before they departed. We did this at no cost to the clients.

The airline reschedule was unfortunate and we need to take responsibility for not communicating that clearly enough. I’m happy to offer a refund on those flights in question on a good will basis, and we refunded the excursions that were cancelled due to weather.

We worked very hard to ensure the trip was as a success in the background, but we could not control the weather that did put a dampener on it. The client was a pleasure to work with and we hope they might return one day!
