Luxury Portugal Trip Review: History, Architecture, Food & Walking Tours, Sardine Plant Visit, 2-Week Vacation

The people, food, and history of Portugal are fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The fish is fresh and tasty (we had a few meals that were all time bests), the pastries delicious, and markets bustling. Understanding the resilience and unique nature of the Portuguese people through the lens of history, architecture, and food was fascinating.
On this trip we were able to get up close and personal with so many aspects of what makes Portugal unique. We explored how cork is harvested and turned into the products we use. Our food tours connected the history of the country with the ingredients used. Our visit to a small fishing village, fish market, and then sardine plant really brought home the importance of seafood to these people. And our walking tours were with highly qualified guides who painted our visit with the historical context of Portugal's cities and towns.
