Get Euros from my bank and take Euros with me. No US Dollars accepted in general and "Change" booths have fees and paperwork needed. Different transportation from Florence to Venice. The Train was crowed (full) and no place for bags. Many stops and tunnels most of the way so nothing to look at. Masks were all of sudden required on public transportation once we left Florence so this ride also required K9 heavy masks. Seemed like the ride forever ! Leave the higher end dress at home. Only a blazer jacket is needed for even the nicest places. Make reservations at the Michelin Star restaurants (and any good ones) way in advance. They are booked up for months and no chance of getting in.
Probably skip the Amalfi Coast drive. The drive is exhausting, just as a passenger even in a high end perfect vehicle. Pedestrians in the way everywhere, cars parked all up and down the narrow roads, passing cars and vehicles with 1 inch clearance on both sides, scooters of every size buzzing past the window every 30 seconds (they drive in the middle between the cars - 100s of them), giant vehicles (like a big bus) coming the other way when there were already cars, scooters and people all over the place. Seemed like a disaster and perfect traffic mess around every corner. It reminded me of the feeling of trying to get out of the sports / concert stadium parking lot for an hour just to go down the road one mile and hit a big traffic mess at the light. Oh my! How the drivers do it I will never know. They made more turns than an Formula 1 racer. Somehow we never had to back up on the road more than 20 yards or so; but that seemed like a miracle.
