Morocco, Egypt Luxury Tour Review: Sahara Desert, Nile River Cruise, Marrakech, Great Pyramids, Cooking Class

If we could do the trip differently, I would somehow wrangle more time to add an extra day in Marrakech. Full disclosure: our time was limited due to Nile cruise and flight schedules, so it would've been nearly impossible to add the extra day, but I left Marrakech wanting more (future trip?).

We spent our one full day in Marrakech seeing the Grand Badi Palace, Majorelle gardens, YSL museum, and Djemaa el-Fna in the morning, followed by a cooking class in the afternoon, which we absolutely loved. We really enjoyed our walking tour of Marrakech, but if I were to do it over, I would have focused on a shopping experience to explore local crafts and designers with a guide who specializes in that type of experience rather than some of the morning activities, such as the YSL museum.

One suggestion would be to explore a different hotel option in Cairo. The hotel offers beautiful views of the Nile and diverse dining options, but it felt overwhelming upon arrival after a pretty chaotic drive from the airport (no fault of our driver). We had cigarette smoke creeping into our non-smoking room during our first night. The hotel was responsive when we called about it the next day, but we wished it would've been a non-issue. We also felt like we couldn't easily venture out given the hotel's location.
