New Zealand Travel Review: Karamea, Nelson, Central Otago, Abel Tasman National Park, Cruise, Helicopter Ride, Jet Boat, Wildlife

The level of adventure was just right for us. We enjoyed our first (and second!) helicopter flights and our first jet boat ride. Each one of our three travelers had different favorites. For one of us, it was hearing and seeing New Zealand birds in their spectacular habitat. For another it was the helicopter rides that showed the powerful scenery from a birds-eye perspective. For another it was the relaxing cruise in Abel Tasman National Park that took us to remote beaches and where we were able to spot penguins and seals. 
The travel agency recommended that we book our dinner reservations in advance and provided a list of suggestions. We did so, and had some fantastic meals.
Our guides were excellent and we appreciated their ability to accommodate our likes and preferences and get us to the places we wanted to see. We never had the feeling that a guide was eager to be rid of us at the end of the day; they always suggested more activities than we had time and energy to appreciate.
