New Zealand Vacation Review: Te Anau, Dunedin, Otago Peninsula, Abel Tasman, Milford Sound, Routeburn Track Hike, Glowworm Caves

Driving in NZ takes more time and concentration than we had anticipated (even though we were forewarned).   I might allow for more time to drive and to relax after.  I might pack water proof pants - Our wildlife tour in Dunedin was a rain soaked day - as was our first day in Christ Church (with remnants of Cyclone Cook).   I discovered some local tracks in Oamaru and Clyde which I wish I had known about beforehand as I would have hiked there more.  I also might stay closer to towns themselves - so I could walk around the lake in Te Anau or easily walk in Queenstown (our apt/hotel was 45 min walk along lake or 25 min walk on busier road) or Dunedin (we stayed hotel with a beautiful beach but since it poured our 3 days there - might have preferred closer location to Univ of Otago/downtown).  Our accommodations were comfortable and great -but often emphasized view/setting over location closer to towns.
